Rottingdean Museum has quite a large display dedicated to local agricultural workers in the period up to the second world war. It includes this woodwormed milkmaids yoke. It also has a lot of information on Rudyard Kipling and Burne-Jones, who lived opposite and William Nicholson who actually lived in the house. Nicholson’s prints are exhibited in the art gallery wing of the building. There is even a cafe with garden and cream teas, idyllic location for a get together one warm, sunny afternoon on the South Coast.
